Car and Traffic Safety
Standards B-SMS 9: Demonstrate personal safety skills
During this lessons students learn the basics traffic safety rules. Students will understand the importance of making sure they are buckled in their carseat and hear the click sound when buckling. Students will also learn about the importance of traffic safety when walking outside. They will learn how to "stop, look, and listen" when waiting to cross the street or a parking lot.
Fire Safety
Standards B-SMS 9: Demonstrate personal safety skills
During this lessons students learn basics fire safety. Students will learn of the importance of getting out and staying out of a burning home/school. They will also learn how and when to call 911 for help, as well as how to stop drop and roll.

Friendly Stranger and Getting Lost Safety
Standards B-SMS 9: Demonstrate personal safety skills
During this lessons students learn basics of what to do when confronted with a friendly stranger and if you get lost. We discuss that strangers are not scary but that we have to know what to do and not do if a stranger talks to us. The students also learn who to go to and the steps to take if they get lost.

Safe and Unsafe Touches
Standards B-SMS 9: Demonstrate personal safety skills
Students learn about safe and unsafe touches. Safe touches include hugs, high fives, holding hands, etc. but only if the other person is okay with these touches. Unsafe touches include hitting, pushing, biting, tripping, etc. Students understand that any unsafe touch should be reported to a safe adult and are not safe secrets to keep.
Erin's Law: Personal Safety
Standards B-SMS 9: Demonstrate personal safety skills
Students learn the topics under Erin's Law. Students learn they are the boss of their own bodies and have the ability to say no to any touch (hugs, high fives, arm around them, etc.), even to grown ups.
