About Holy Family Faith Formation

Our faith formation journey began in July 2005 when Fr. Antony Kudukkamthadthil MST was appointed as the ROCKLAND SYRO MALABAR Mission director. He started CCD classes from grade 1-8 to teach the Syro Malabar Catholic faith in partnership with parents, who are the primary educators of their children.  The journey of faith begins at Baptism and calls for children to actively participate with their parents in the full life of our Catholic Church.  In order for this journey to enrich the lives of everyone involved, each catechist, parent, and student must understand and embrace his/her role. Currently there are more than 140 students studying Catechism at Holy Family Faith Formation class up to year 12  headed by Ronny Murikkan.

Our Catechism Program

Our Catechism program runs on Sundays, from September to June every year. It consists of an hour of faith formation  followed by the Syro-Malabar Holy Mass.  The program starts at 10.00 am and ends at 12.00.  The classes commence with an assembly where important instructions and information are given to the children, followed by a catechetical pledge.  All students are expected to attend their Catechism Class and the Holy Mass in order to gain a complete understanding of their Catholic faith. The programme follows the approved text books of the Syro Malabar Catholic Church, and are made available to every child. Examinations are conducted twice a year. Moreover, in order to identify and nurture the talents of our children, competitions are  held every year which is known as “Bible Arts Fest”.
