When placed at a Partner School, you are typically placed in a cohort with your peers. The Cohort Experience means there will be group of students placed at the same location in different classrooms. This allows students the opportunity to collaborate with peers while placed in the field. Students have had opportunities to co-teach in the same class (one the general education teacher and one the special education teacher), plan as a grade team (placed in the same grade as a peer), attend department meetings together, attend professional development together, and connect with Holy Family Alumni that are working at our Partner Schools.

"It makes the experience so much better and you actually feel apart of the the school community."
"It is an amazing experience......It made me less nervous for observations and I feel that was really beneficial so I can plan lessons and be confident while teaching them."
"We are extremely lucky to have this partnership."
"I felt very supported throughout the whole process. A lot of student teachers feel disconnected from their school once they start student teaching, but I felt very connected to Holy Family still throughout this experience."
"You are provided with help throughout the whole process from your peers."
"It was 100% worth being a part of the partnership. The administration, cooperating teachers, and support staff make the experience a really fulfilling one. The cooperating teachers are so supportive and want to see you succeed."
"I feel like I got so much more support and learned so much more by the partnership"
"I would recommend that future student teachers take advantage of the partnerships because it is comforting to have your classmates at the same school. "
"It was a great experience being around teachers who have personally gone to Holy Family for Education as well as current teachers at Holy Family who have close relationships with those teachers. It creates a sense of belonging when you're around alumni from your own college who have taken the same classes that you're currently taking."
