Organized by the Holy Cross Office of Vocations, this pilgrimage is intended to help young men in college discern God's call in their lives.

7-14 miles per day with a 25lb+ pack
Rain, mud, rocks, and lots of elevation change
Cooking, water filtration, bear-proofing, camp setup and takedown
Deep gorges, cascading waterfalls, and dense hardwood forests
Daily Mass & Liturgy of the Hours in the outdoors
Reflections on the Sacred Heart, particularly through Bl. Basil Moreau's meditations and Pope Francis' Encyclical Letter, Dilexit Nos
Small group check-ins and reflections
Day of prayer to close the pilgrimage

Arrive at Moreau Seminary and Scholasticate, gear check, and overnight stay
Sunday, October 18
Morning Mass & drive to North Carolina (12 hour drive)
Monday-Thursday, October 19-22
Backpack & camp in the Nantahala National Forest
Thursday, October 22
Finish hike & drive to retreat center (location TBD)
Friday, October 23
Retreat day of prayer
Saturday, October 24
Return to Notre Dame

3 Evening Prep Sessions (September 29, October 6, October 13)
1 Gear Check (October 17)
Provide your own rain-proof clothing and footwear (we will provide the rest of the gear, but personal equipment is welcome!)
