Congratulations to the 4th-8th grade students that qualified to attend the William Allen White Awards ceremony in Emporia, October 4th- 5t^h by reading the 2018-19 WAW book lists. Our adventurous trip to Emporia was full of fun. Friday night, October 4t^h, we met authors Sara Pennypacker and Jason Reynolds on the porch of Red Rocks, William Allen White’s home, and attended the reception honoring the 67^th anniversary of the WAW Book Award. We spent the night in the Emporia Rec. Center; swimming, playing basketball, and enjoying a special visit from the authors for a read-in. Next year's ceremony is scheduled for October 2nd-3rd, 2020. All 3rd-8th graders are encouraged to read the 2019-20 William Allen White list books to attend!
