I was born in a small town in the foothills of the Himalayas, a place that feels almost otherworldly. Growing up amidst the natural beauty of India, I developed an early fascination with the mysteries of the universe. This curiosity led me to pursue a BSc at Lady Brabourne College and an MSc at IIT-R, both in physics.
In my early twenties, driven by a desire to delve deeper into the field, I embarked on a journey that took me halfway around the world to the United States for advanced studies in physics. There, I completed my PhD in theoretical particle physics at Oklahoma State University in 2015, followed by a Graduate fellow position at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics at UCSB and Pirrung postdoctoral fellow positions at the University of Virginia and a Visiting Assistant Professor position at the Physics and Astronomy Dept, Colby College in Maine.
Today, I am a tenured Associate Professor in the Physics Department at the College of the Holy Cross. My research explores model building and phenomenology in physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM), with a focus on neutrinos, dark matter, cosmology, astroparticle physics, and effective field theories related to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
In addition to my research, I am dedicated to advancing diversity in physics. I founded and advise the 'Women in Physics' group at Holy Cross and have held various significant roles, including serving as a Visitor at CERN's Department of Theoretical Physics in 2024, the Secretary of the Executive Committee for the Forum for Early Career Scientists (FECS) at the American Physical Society (2021-2022), a Visiting Researcher at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Sciences (2021-2022). I was also named a Kavli Institute of Theoretical Physics Scholar from 2019 to 2021.
