Christina

Bio

Christina has worked at the Writer's Workshop since her sophomore year. She is also involved in many other activities on campus such as club soccer, Working for Worcester, SPUD, and more. She enjoys spending time around campus with her friends, especially as she takes in her last year at the college. Christina has explored courses across disciplines to pursue a variety of writing styles ranging from psychology to English, and is hoping to have a career working with others in which she can use the skills she has gained from the workshop. 

Nate

Bio

Nate is an aspiring history teacher hoping to work at the high school level. He is passionate about many things both in and outside the academic world. Nate believes that writing is like riding a bike, anyone can do it, it just takes some practice. You might fall but that's ok because you'll get there. Nate is a big sports fan particularly baseball and football. His favorite sports team is the Boston Red Sox. You won't often see him working in Dinand because he likes to move around and think out loud while writing and that is not appropriate library etiquette. Nate is a big fan of the meal swipe sandwiches at Dags and will always stop by there a couple of times a week for lunch. He also enjoys rewatching sitcoms like Community, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, and Parks and Rec. 

Edwin

Bio

Edwin loves walruses. Indeed, he spends most of his days thinking about them. He also likes running. To run faster, Edwin pretends he is running toward a walrus. Edwin also enjoys reading books about history and watching TV shows like the West Wing and The Office. He prides himself on the fact that his reading and watching TV abilities are much better than the average walrus. Edwin also spent the fall semester of 2023 working for the Department of Education in Washington, DC. Although the experience was incredible, he was disappointed that he saw no walruses. In the future, Edwin plans to become a high school history teacher to teach students about the wonderful historical accomplishments of walruses. 

Allison

Bio

Allison loves to talk all things Holy Cross and share about her experiences and learn more about others. She loves to spend time with her roommates and cook dinner together, take walks around campus while listening to Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers, and Lizzy McAlpine, and stop by Campion to get a cookie daily. One of her favorite memories throughout college was studying abroad in Granada, Spain where she had a host family and a host "sister" from Japan. She is passionate about social justice and hopes to make a career out of this, in whatever way possible. 

Liam

Bio

Liam is passionate about all types of writing, ranging from analytical economic papers to creative stories and loves to work across multiple disciplines. When it comes to consulting, he likes to break down the parts of the writing and brainstorm ideas out loud. He is involved in the admissions office, finance club, and club ultimate frisbee. When not in the workshop or with these other groups he loves to listen to music, spend time with friends, or do something outside. You will often find him in the library, at Coolbeans, or out on the Hoval (when it's warm). 

Erin

Bio

Erin is a student who is very passionate about learning, which has inspired her decision to pursue a PhD program in Cognitive Neuroscience following her graduation from Holy Cross. She hopes to become a Professor and complete research in her future career. Apart from working as a peer tutor in the Writer's Workshop, she conducts research in collaboration with the Workshop, and works in a Neuroscience research lab. Outside of the academic space, Erin loves to read (especially mysteries) and write creatively. She is always listening to a podcast while walking around campus, especially to her favorite places: the gym and the library. After returning from her semester abroad in Galway, Ireland, she has  discovered a newfound love for tea, rather than coffee, in addition to a Seinfeld addiction. 

Elizabeth

Bio

Elizabeth is senior English major in the Teacher Education program. She is currently student-teaching in Worcester public schools and hopes to teach secondary education after she graduates. On campus, Elizabeth is involved in SPUD and conducts research through the Writer's Workshop. In her free time, Elizabeth loves to crochet, read, work out, and watch reality tv with her roommates. 

Sarah

Bio

Sarah is a bookworm, a food enthusiast, and a dabbler in theater light design in the ACT club on campus. She's recently gotten interested in story-driven games filled with the perfect balance between rich writing and game mechanics. So much so that she's even considering becoming a game script writer. But for now her aspiration is to be a editor helping new stories come into fruition. If she's not working on homework, Sarah tends to help out with operating the lightboard in department shows up in the PAC, or loves to hide out in her room discovering new stories through videos, books, and writing.

Ava

Bio

Ava is passionate about engaging with law and social policy work. On campus, she enjoys mentoring students of all class years as a Writing Consultant and Resident Assistant. She joined the Writer's Workshop to help students become more confident writers and make the writing process less isolating by following a student-centric approach. In her RA role, she encourages her residents to take advantage of all the college has to offer and hosts events based on their interests. When she's not working with students, Ava is a member of Holy Cross Dance Ensemble and Dance, where she is a contemporary choreographer. You can also find her in Cool Beans listening to indie rock music, doing the NYT mini-crossword, and studying. Upon graduation, Ava hopes to pursue public interest work as a paralegal. 

Shanil

Bio

Shanil is a positive individual who enjoys animated films. She's part of the Benedict Joseph Society and a community organizer for SPUD. When she graduates, Shanil would like to work on an internship in politics and is currently studying for the LSAT. She enjoys listening to varied genres of music and her favorite book is Storm and Silence by Robert Thier. Fun fact: she completed a Business Fundamentals Certificate! 

Lili

Bio

Lili is an aspiring marketer, hoping to work in the fashion/beauty industry. She has spent the last year working in the Holy Cross marketing office and figuring out what she wants her future to look like after graduation. She loves to listen to Taylor Swift, watch romantic comedies/reality shows with her roommates, and bake in her free time! She also enjoys running at the Jo and taking exercise classes with her friends. You can find her in stacks of Dinand doing work and starting her day with a cup of green tea. 

Rhiannon

Bio

Rhiannon is a senior English major with a concentration in Creative Writing who is currently writing an English Honors Thesis in poetry. Rhiannon aspires to become a teacher following graduation, while also continuing to pursue writing opportunities. While not doing schoolwork, Rhiannon loves to go for a nice long run, read a pleasure book, or enjoy a large Dunkin' latte. 

Daniel

Bio

Daniel is a Senior history major hoping to pursue a career in law after school. Aside from working for the Writer's Workshop, Daniel is a Chief Editor for the satire section of the student newspaper, the Spire, and a research assistant in the history department. Daniel loves writing, reading, and talking about history writing. When not studying or working, Daniel enjoys playing intramural sports or playing videogames with his housemates. You can  most often find Daniel in the reading room of the library or simply reading in his room with a travel cup full of Irish tea. 

Lauren

Bio

Lauren is a native New Yorker, but also considers herself a seasonal New Englander. She likes to think of writing as a process akin to learning a language or an instrument, where a growth mindset is key to developing one's skill and confidence. Besides working in the Writer's Workshop, Lauren is also involved in various campus theatre productions, Dance Ensemble, Pax Christi, and every choir group that Holy Cross has to offer! You can often find her spending too much time in the Music library, or else watching movies with her friends. 

Melissa

Bio

Melissa is aspiring to become a teacher in hopes of teaching English abroad in Asia and/or in Latin America. She enjoys creative writing, poetry and reading. When she is not busy with school related assignments; she is at the gym, listening to music while walking on campus, or watching reality shows/anime at the comfort of her apartment. Melissa also loves to spend time at bookstores (she's growing a book collection). 

Kyra

Bio

Kyra starts any writing piece by making a detailed outline. She also likes talking her ideas out with peers. In her free time, Kyra runs and loves to hike. 

Ari

Bio

Ari is a Senior majoring in English and Education. Originally from the Bronx, NY., she is big on reading, writing, and music. In her free time, you will almost always catch Ari listening to some cool beats or journaling on the Hoval. Her advice for writers: "Write in chunks! Write for a few minutes, take a break, then repeat!"

Sally

Bio

Sally plays for the women's lacrosse team and enjoys baking in her free time. She starts all writing assignments by freely handwriting any and all thoughts about the topic onto one sheet of paper.

Kylie

Bio

Kylie is a History major with a minor in Rhetoric and Composition and is trained to work with writers from any class year and subject. She prefers to start any writing assignment by brainstorming her ideas and by taking apart the given prompt. 

Sofia

Bio

Sofia is a sociology major who is aspiring to pursue a career in law. She loves to go for long runs, walks, and do pilates classes. She is passionate about research, reading, and writing with a sociological perspective in mind. She also enjoys creative writing during her free time. She works at the Jo, and loves to stop and chat with gym goers about all things fitness. You can also find her in the library or in Stein, writing a paper on her laptop with an iced vanilla latte.
