Housing and Meals
Housing and Meals
The program places students in a homestay-- in a private room, with a typical local Russian-speaking family. Students can take advantage of a friendly atmosphere to practice using Russian in a relaxed and natural way.
The program's carefully selected and vetted Russian host families always have time to talk to students, are patient, understanding, attentive, and prepared to provide help with any problem that may arise during the student’s stay in Daugavpils. Being treated as a member of a family gives students an ideal opportunity to practice Russian in an authentic environment and to experience firsthand the Russian way of life. A homestay does not always mean a traditional married couple with children. Above all, the program looks for hosts who are sociable, like to meet new people, and can give a warm welcome to the students.
Learn Russian in the EU chooses potential host families very carefully. Families must meet the program's requirements and high standards. The program looks not only for comfortable living conditions but also for the family’s friendly attitude towards a new potential family member. Before signing an agreement with a potential host family, the program inspects both the apartment and the prospective hosts. The program provides instructions and training as well.
Thus, the program ensures that a student living in that family will be safe and comfortable. Of course, the program monitors the service, may inspect the family during the student’s stay. The program is always willing to listen and respond to any special student needs or complaints.
