León Study Abroad Student Ambassadors

My name is Lilly Patton, and I am an English and Music major at Holy Cross. I studied abroad in the Fall of 2024 at Universidad de León in Spain. During my time abroad, I immersed myself in the Spanish language, which greatly improved my fluency and confidence. I formed a close bond with my host mom, who shared her insights into the local culture and daily life. I also explored the diverse regions of Spain, discovering the unique traditions, distinct languages, and rich history that make each area so special. Embracing the vibrant culture of Spain and León was an unforgettable experience that deepened my appreciation for the country’s incredible diversity and spirit.

My name is Elizabeth Baka and I am an Economics and Spanish double major. I studied abroad during the 2024-2025 academic year in León, Spain. My favorite thing about my study abroad site was the full immersion I got in the culture and because of this, my Spanish speaking skills had improved immensely allowing for me to develop stronger relationships with the locals which I greatly appreciated.
