All students will live in a student apartment building located just a short 10-minute walk to campus. The building was specifically built to provide superior accommodation for students attending UCC. The accommodation is designed to meet all the needs of students and is located within a 10-minute walk to UCC and a 15-minute walk to the city centre. The building contains 2,3 ,4, 5, & 6-bed apartments with all bedrooms en-suite. There is a dedicated reception and a nightly/weekend Security Warden. Please contact Emma Meade at 443-468-8953 or emeade@holycross.edu if you have been accepted into this program and need the address and name of the dorm.
Once you apply to UCC and get accepted, you will receive an email from your student residence about registering for housing. It's important that you respond to all communications from the residence in a timely manner. Emma Meade in the Office of Study Abroad (emeade@holycross.edu) liases directly with the building staff and would be happy to assist with any questions you may have.
Feel free to email Emma Meade at emeade@holycross.edu with any requests you might have to room with friends. Groups of 4 tend to work the best! While your request is not guaranteed to be honored, we are happy to liaise with the staff on your behalf.

A laundry room is available for use in your building. Laundry is pay-as-you-go. Make sure you have cash a credit or debit card that is chip enabled so that can 'tap' you card to pay for laundry!
All student apartments include a fully functional kitchen. Students who study in Cork typically shop for groceries and cook their own food at home. There is a Ryan's Supervalue Grocery store close to the dorm that can even deliver groceries right to your door! There are many other grocery stores in Cork like Tesco, Lidl, and Aldi. There are also 10+ dining options on campus ranging from restaurants to cafés to snack bars. Check out the options here.
All apartments are self-catered. This means that you will not have a meal plan, but rather you will purchase your own food. Whether you choose to buy groceries and cook for yourself or purchase food on campus, you'll need to budget for meals!
There is no meal plan for purchase at UCC. Instead, you can pay-as-you-go for cafes and restaurants on campus, or purchase food from the grocery store. You will not be charged Holy Cross board (ie meal plan) on your tuition bill, which is $3,925 per semester. You should instead plan to use some or all of this budget sourcing your own food during your semester or year away.
How much you spend on food depends on your personal habits. Before you go, do some googling! Figure out the average prices for your favorite foods and make a plan!
