The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) is the oldest North American archaeological organization which, per its mission statement,
"...promotes archaeological inquiry and public understanding of the material record of the human past to foster an appreciation of diverse cultures and our shared humanity.
"...supports archaeologists, their research and its dissemination, and the ethical practice of archaeology.
and "...educates people of all ages about the significance of archaeological discovery and advocates for the preservation of the world’s archaeological heritage."

The Worcester Society of the AIA is hosted by the College of the Holy Cross. The President is Prof. Ellen Perry; other officers include Prof. Jacob Damm (Vice President), Prof. Danielle Candelora (Treasurer), Prof. Elizabeth Knott (Director of Outreach), and Prof. Ann Glennie (Director of Social Media).
