VOLUME 50, ISSUE 4 – FEBRUARY/MARCH – 2025-26
Dear Readers,
Welcome to the February/March issue of The Sting! As we close out a month filled with snow and lots of love (See: Akshara, Cheryl, & Amishi’s article on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime performance), our staff has been working through the snow days to bring you the stories of this month.
Despite being the shortest month, February has proven itself to be a far-from-meager 28 days. From historic wins, both schoolwide (See: Kim’s article on Hornet Robotics’ wins at their 2/8 meet) and internationally (See: Elia, Akshara, and Cheryl’s article on the 2026 Winter Olympics), to new traditions (See: Brian and Connor’s article on Holmdel’s first Music Mingle), us Holmdel students have a lot to be proud of.
Not only do we give you something to read every month or two (See: Andrew’s opinion piece on American high school literacy rates), The Sting helps you stay informed and brings to light our unique student perspectives. In light of recent events, including the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, we urge you to be kind to each other in spirit of the cross-country sportsmanship shown at the 2026 Olympics, to resist the harmful rhetoric prevalent in the media and propaganda. We also urge you to approach said media (and this newspaper issue!) with a critical eye and, as always, an open mind.
Happy Reading!
Kim, Andrew, Vivi, and Andy
