Blue Shirt Day
Beginning with the first Monday of October of each year we celebrate the Week of Respect. We recognize the importance of social and emotional learning and character education, by providing age-appropriate instruction focusing on preventing acts of HIB. These activities recognize the importance of fostering positive school climate and help to provide a safe and supportive educational environment.
Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October. Red Ribbon Week is dedicated in honor of murdered DEA agent Enrique Camarena, a leader in drug prevention.
No Name-Calling Week is a week organized by K-12 educators and students to end name-calling and bullying in schools. The week is rooted in the idea of #KindnessInAction — not merely recognizing the importance of kindness, but actively adding kindness into our every action.
Monthly focus on teaching tolerance... Daily messages focusing on differences, understanding and acceptance of all people.
February 17th
In celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Day, students participated in "Character Dares" demonstrating kindness towards peers, staff and family.
Say Something is a week of awareness in February created by the Sandy Hook Promise. It is designed to teach students how to look for warning signs, signals and threats of an individual who may be a threat to themselves or others. Teaching students to Say Something to a trusted adult help builds a culture of “looking out for one another” and by reporting, entire communities will become safer.
