Persuasive Project Info
Assignments will be turned in the first week of school, and you may be asked to present your work to the class.
Whatever you submit, your audience should be able to get through it in about a minute
Not sure what to do? Here are a few ideas!
Create a 30-60 second book trailer that will persuade viewers to read your book.
Prepare a slideshow that can be viewed independently to persuade classmates to read your book.
Design a comic strip that will persuade classmates to read your book.
Create a poster advertising the books and its best qualities.
Film an advertisement video showing off the book
Remember, the visual project you make is up to YOU!
Use the rubric as a guide to help you as you design your project.
To do this assignment well, students should consider the following ideas:
Who is the intended target audience of this book?
What kind of person is most likely going to read the book?
How old is the person who will most likely read the book?
What kind of person would be likely to read a book of this genre/style?
What are the main elements of the book that are meant to appeal to that target audience?
What are the most important/most interesting:
details?
characters?
pieces of information?
plot points?
setting details?
How can you discuss/display the most appealing elements of the book?
IMPORTANT: Be mindful that the focus of this project is to PERSUADE. Therefore, all projects should move beyond just summarizing the story and focus instead on convincing others to read it.
