About me

My name is Hailey Weinstein and I recently graduated from The College of New Jersey with a masters in special education. I attended The College of New Jersey for undergrad and studied special education and iSTEM. I specialized in technology within the STEM area, but took additional mathematics and science courses to receive the mathematics and science endorsements. In special education, I specialized in literacy disabilities. I have field experience across a variety of settings working with different learner needs. I just completed a clinical experience in Italy working to foster students with an international perspective. I have experience working in general education settings, inclusive environments, and in resource classrooms.

educational philosophy

As educators teaching in this computing intensive world, it is our responsibility to produce educated members of society who carry the attributes of problem solving, inquiry, decision making, collaboration, and communication. The incorporation of technology and computing strategies into our teaching will help students navigate through local and global challenges.  Literacy is the foundation for all learning as it influences students success in reading, writing, and speaking; the literacy skills of critical thinking, listening, and speaking are necessary qualities for students to uphold in order to excel in the STEM field. It is a priority to create the shift from separated content areas to a more integrative approach that is design based. Teachers need to be mindful of all learners needs and focus on students strengths through differentiated instruction, hand-on learning, accommodations, and modifications. The classroom is a safe environment that should be welcoming and accepting each day for all learners.
