About Ms. Begen

Hi everyone! My name is Kayla Begen and I'm very excited to be teaching seventh and eighth grade math at Satz in Holmdel this year. It will be my 5th year teaching, I spent the previous 4 years teaching in Baltimore City. I am thrilled to be returning to my home state, New Jersey. I grew up in Hillsdale, NJ and attended TCNJ undergrad. I am looking forward to a healthy, happy, and productive learning year with each and everyone of you! Hiking

Ms. Begen in Acadia National Park this summer! Yes, summer!

Hiking is a great challenge and has a serene effect at the same time. I try to get in a hike or nature walk every weekend. I love travelling to national parks I've never been before!

Running

Ms. Begen & her dog Riley after a 5k.

I have been an avid runner since my track career started in middle school. In high school I ran cross country and winter & spring track. I still love to run & compete!

Travel

Ms. Begen in Napoli, Italy.

I love to travel! This was my first trip outside of the U.S in 2019. Although I haven't been able to travel out of country since, I still have visited new places around the U.S!
