The Holmdel Math and Science Department is excited to announce the beginning of a STEM Seminar series in partnership with Dr. Vibha Jawa, who is an Executive Director responsible for the non-clinical and clinical development of biological drugs
at the Bristol Myers Squibb corporation. She is also a part of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and vice chair of the Women in Pharmaceutical Sciences Community.
Our joint objective is to build STEM awareness for students. The evening speaker series will be open to families, and will allow students to interact with STEM industry professionals, learning about recent advancements and current research that is being done in a variety of fields. Each seminar will bring in a new scientist with a different background and area of expertise who will highlight applications of their work, and discuss possible careers related to their studies. It is our hope that this series will spark student interest in scientific research, pique curiosity about advances in STEM fields, and motivate students to pursue careers related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the future. The first seminar in the series, entitled “The Cartography of CAR-T: Mapping the Advances in Cancer Treatments from Chemo to CAR-T” will be presented by Dr. Jawa and her colleague, Dr. Robert Dodge on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 6:30 in the Holmdel High School Auditorium.
We are very proud of the accomplishments of all of our amazing students and teachers. Please check here regularly for updates on recent competition results and points of interest.
