I am Elizabeth Smith (Betsy), and I am the Village School and Indian Hill School Literacy Coach for Kindergarten through Grade 5. With this, I have the privilege of visiting classrooms, modeling lessons, and working with groups of students and teachers.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development from Boston College and my Masters in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and I am a certified Orton Gillingham Dyslexia teacher. I have been teaching in Holmdel since 1997, and it has been a pleasure working in various positions, ranging from 2nd Grade to 8th; I am so fortunate now to be able to collaborate with our phenomenol staff in providing our Holmdel students with excellent practice in literacy.
