Electronic Devices
Please place cell phones, earbuds, etc., in your numbered pocket space at the start of class.
If you are misusing ANY electronic device in class (this includes classroom chromebooks), consequences will be aligned with the Satz Code of Conduct.
Grade Breakdown
Major assignments (70%) -- tests, quizzes, projects, essays
Minor assignments (30%) -- homework, classwork, current events
Graded Work
I will always tell you when we have a graded assignment. It will be written on the classroom whiteboard, homework board, and/or with the assignment on google classroom. You will never have to ask me :)
Late Work
If you are missing an assignment (forgetting to do a graded assignment, turning in a long term assignment late), you will lose 5 points each day it is late.
Each day you are absent, you are given that many days to make it up! You are responsible for any work that you have missed. For example, if you were absent on Monday and Tuesday (2 days), you have Wednesday and Thursday (2 days) to make up your work.Â
If you are absent for a week or longer, we will make sure you are caught up on all graded assignments!
Study Guides
Study guides are given as a tool to help aide your studying. Study guides will either be given as a list of topics to study, or open ended questions. YOU are responsible for finding the answers. Answers will be given to study guide the day before a test. DO NOT WAIT TO GET THE ANSWERS! It is highly encouraged to come to extra help for additional review prior to a test.
Plagiarism
Academic integrity is taken very seriously in our class. You are learning a lot - so I want you to show me how much you know, that way I can help you grow! Any violation of plagiarism, including copying answers (in person or online), and the use of artificial intelligence, will result in the following: automatic zero on assignment, parent and school officials notified. Any further consequences will be aligned with the Satz Code of Conduct.
