Although our world language programs have been impacted by the pandemic, it has not stopped us from addressing the needs of our present and future language learners in our community. Below, you will find two documents that describe key changes to our practices. The first one explains the history behind this shift on the national, state, and local levels. The second outlines the need to provide effective and meaningful feedback to our students, which is central to this new way of approaching world language instruction.

In the following video, Declan Collins, who is a grade 10 French immersion student at Holliston High School, explains the new proficiency-oriented feedback system for French immersion at the middle and high school levels. This model will be used for our traditional French and Spanish programs as well. It articulates the various elements that will be used to give effective and meaningful feedback to students.
