Happy Memorial Day!

We hope you enjoyed the long weekend and beautiful weather! This past week was very busy and fun. We had an author visit as well as our field trip to the zoo (please see pictures below).

In ELA, we focused on the letter Zz as we prepared for the zoo. We wrote about our favorite zoo animals, brainstormed words that started with Zz and even played some zoo games. This was the last letter focus of the year. We will now start reviewing material previously learned with a focus on vowel sounds.

In math, we continued working with measurement. We are using different materials to measure and compare objects. We are also starting to think about weight and comparing objects by how heavy or light they are.

In Open Circle, we are starting to discuss the transition to first grade and celebrating all of the amazing things we have done together as a class. We are in constant awe of how well our little friends are able to articulate and reflect upon their feelings.
