Transitioning to High School

Getting Ready for High School

In 8th Grade, students have the opportunity to consider different options for high school. Many students choose between Holliston High School and Keefe Tech Regional High School in Framingham.

Holliston High School

  • A traditional high school
  • Students have the option to take many different electives
  • We will have high school teachers visit academic support in the fall (October) to answer any questions
  • Students are given a tour of the school in the spring
  • There is an optional shadow day for students in the spring

Keefe Tech Regional High School

  • Application and interview for admission
    • Applications due in January (apply even if you are just considering...this give you the choice later on)
    • Click here for the online application or see guidance for a paper copy
    • Interviews are typically in early February
    • Transition meetings with a Keefe Tech representative in the spring
      • Transform the IEP to match KeefeĀ“s schedule
  • Tour field trip in the fall
  • Tech school= 1 week of shop, 1 week of academics rotation
  • Students have the option of trying different shops before committing to one

    • Depending on shop chosen, students could graduate high school with career license or certifications
  • Students from Holliston, Ashland, Framingham, Hopkinton, and Natick
  • Services are still provided at Keefe Tech
