For the Spring 2025 season, Arizona is offering state championships in League of Legends,, Smash Brothers Ultimate, and Rocket League.
In League of Legends (PC), teams of five players compete in a territorial conquest. Players can pick from a list of over 150 champions and each champion brings their own unique play style. The game is easy to pick up but difficult to master. There are professional leagues for this game and the 2018 world championship had over 100 million viewers. The winning team earned a 6 million dollar pay out. Some colleges have built their own LoL teams and are offering scholarships to graduating high school seniors. League of Legends is free to download and you can gain more champions by playing. If you play for our team, you will have all of the champions unlocked for the season.
In Rocket League (PC), teams of three play soccer, with cars. But these aren't normal cars, they have rocket packs and can fly. Have you ever wanted to flip six times, fly through the air for 30-seconds, and tip a giant soccer ball into a goal with only your tire? Than this game is for you. There are also world professional players for Rocket League and a world championship. Schools are also offering scholarships for their Rocket League teams. Rocket League is free.
The last game we offer is Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Teams consist of three players. Each player competes against one player from an opponent school. Whichever teams has the most combined wins takes the match.. Students will play from school. Eligibility will remain a requirement for this game. There are several professional Smash Bros players around the world MkLeo and ShinyMark. Colleges are offering scholarships up to 20,000 dollars for students to join their Smash team.
