Curriculum

The WLC workshops, along with our guest keynote speakers, provide ambassadors with an immersive experience exploring five leadership competencies that make up the WLC Curriculum. Each leadership competency is rooted in practical ways you can learn and grow in your journey towards becoming a more effective community leader.

Growth Mindset

After hearing from our keynote speakers, you will be able to:

create and follow through with leadership goals
maintain resiliency and a growth mindset when faced with challenges, failures, and setbacks
appreciate and reflect upon your growth as a leader in order to pursue new challenges

Critical Thinking

After completing this workshop, you will be able to:

expand your views when presented with new information and perspectives
ask questions in order to build understanding, rather than your own ideas
change your behavior when you learn something new

Effective Communication

After completing this workshop, you will be able to:

understand how you function as a communicator
work with people who have a different communication style than your own
disagree with someone and discuss opposing viewpoints with respect
build positive relationships with others through practicing empathy

Authentic Leadership

After completing this workshop, you will be able to:

explore your identity and understand how it may develop and change over time
understand how your environment shapes your approach to the world
skillfully collaborate with people who have different identities and experiences
incorporate others’ perspectives when collaborating

Changemaking with Integrity

After completing this workshop, you will be able to:

properly assess a leadership opportunity and determine a responsible path forward
identify the needs of your community and what you can do to foster positive change to address those needs
act with integrity and in alignment with your leadership values
strive to change the world around you
