The Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse is 100% run by volunteers.
There is no commitment, help us as little or as much as you are able!
We need volunteers for all of our operations and paddling isn’t always one of them! Web design, event organizing, providing instruction, and promotion are just a few. Send us a message and tell us how you would like to get involved.
Join us for free paddling instruction sessions in our cove. Learn to paddle more effectively, improve your form, maneuver your kayak, rescue yourself and others, and learn more about our beautiful river. Check our meetup for dates/times.
By helping us during our free kayaking days at the cove you may start joining our trips. We go everywhere! Destinations: Frying Pan, Manhattan Kayak Company, Downtown Community Boathouse, Surf City, Governor's Island, Red Hook, and more!
Seakayaks, SUPs, Canoes, Surfskis
Once you have mastered the basic strokes of paddling sit-on-top kayaks you may begin to learn and use our sleeker, lighter, and much faster crafts. These are what we use for our long volunteer trips. You will be able to travel further, faster, and safer! If you are lucky you may catch a wave or two.
A little competition can be fun. Throughout our season some of our volunteers take part in different races. Meet members from other boathouses and paddlers from all over. Bring those medals home!
