App: 5G Check – 5G Speed Test & 5G Checker (package com.applife.speedtest5g) · Effective date: October 24, 2026
In short: 5G Check needs no account. Your test results, signal readings and place labels stay on your phone; we do not receive them. To measure speed, the app talks to Cloudflare's speed test servers. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, and the app uses Google Firebase for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. We do not sell your data.
To tell you whether you are on 5G and how fast your connection is, the app reads, on your device:
Network type (5G SA, 5G NSA, 4G LTE, Wi‑Fi…), mobile carrier name and SIM slot.
Cell information: band and frequency (for example n78 or B3), cell PCI and ARFCN, and signal quality (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR).
The name and band of the Wi‑Fi network you are connected to.
Speed test results: download, upload, ping, jitter, data used, the test server and the time of the test.
Optional place labels you choose (such as Home, Office or a name you type).
This information is saved only in the app's private storage on your phone (test history, signal log, settings). We do not collect it on any server. The app does not read or store your GPS coordinates, contacts, phone number, calls, messages, photos or files.
Location (precise / approximate)
Android only gives apps cell details (band, PCI, frequency) and the Wi‑Fi network name when location permission is granted. The app uses it for those readings only; it does not read or save where you are. Asked only when a screen needs it, never at start-up.
Phone (read phone state)
On Android 8–11 it is needed to read the network type. On Android 12 and later it is asked only on phones with two SIMs, to let you choose which SIM to show. The app does not read your phone number, IMEI or calls.
Notifications (Android 13+)
Only if you turn on scheduled tests, to tell you when your speed drops.
Internet and network state
To run speed tests, detect the connection type and load ads.
You can refuse or remove any permission in Android Settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
A speed test downloads and uploads test data to speed.cloudflare.com, run by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any website, Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical connection data so it can answer, and it returns the test server location and your internet provider's name, which the app shows to you. No test history or personal data from the app is sent. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Tests use mobile data when you are not on Wi‑Fi. The app stops at the data limit you choose in Settings.
The free version shows ads (app open, interstitial and native ads) from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a consent message from Google (User Messaging Platform) asks for your choice before personalized ads are shown. You can change it any time in the app: Settings → Privacy options.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google → Ads).
More: How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
The app uses Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config (Google LLC) to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes:
Usage events such as screens opened, a test started or finished, the network type and a rough speed range, ad events and settings changed.
Device model, Android version, app version, language, country, and an app instance ID.
Crash reports with technical logs.
We never send place labels, Wi‑Fi names, cell IDs or location to Firebase. These statistics are not used to identify you. See Privacy and security in Firebase.
If the app offers a Pro upgrade, payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details; the app only receives whether a purchase is active, to unlock features.
If you turn it on, the app runs a short speed test in the background every few hours (by default only on Wi‑Fi), saves the result on your phone and may notify you when your speed drops. You can turn it off any time in Settings.
When you tap Share or export your history as a CSV file, the app hands that content to the app you pick. Nothing is shared without your action.
If Android backup is on for your Google account, Android may include the app's history and settings in your device backup, stored by Google under your account. We cannot access it.
Results stay on your phone until you delete them in the app, clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
Data collected by Google (AdMob, Firebase) is kept under Google's own retention rules.
For any privacy request, email us (section 14).
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.
Data stays in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Connections to Cloudflare and Google use encryption (HTTPS).
We may update this policy when the app changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
