HALLS OF RESIDENCE

As a fully residential university, HNLU has separate Halls of Residence for boys and girls having a capacity of 800 rooms each. The first-year students are given an accommodation on the basis of double occupancy for both boys and girls in their respective hostels, and second year to fifth year students are given accommodation on the basis of single occupancy in the respective hostels furnished with cots, tables and storage space.

The hostels have a boys and girls dining halls with a seating capacity of 150 each. The single room hostels have a balcony to individual room and a courtyard. All the floors have water coolers and a centralized RO plant is under commission. The solar heater equipped with alternate electrical heater supplies water to the shower rooms. Both Boys and Girls have a state-of-the-art Gymnasium in the central hostels with indoor badminton courts. There is also a recreational TV room and table tennis facility.

MEDICAL INFRASTRUCTURE

The University has a doctor on visiting basis and he is available every day from 4-6 pm in campus. Emergency medicine / First Aid is also available in the respective hostels. The University has two ambulances for medical emergencies. The Ramakrishna hospital which is around 15 minutes from the University is a multi-specialty hospital catering to the needs of the HNLU fraternity and the BALCO cancer hospital is also nearby . The city of Raipur has AIIMS which is a high-specialty medical complex.


Sports@HNLU

The University has a full-fledged football ground, Cricket field, lawn tennis, two basketball courts and one volley ball court. The Colossus sports festival attract participation across the country. The University is commissioning a yoga center in the coming academic year.


Facilities at HNLU

Apart from the dining hall, the University has utility center where shops are operated on contract basis selling snacks, ice creams, beverages and minor needs. The campus has also a Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) / Amul outlet and a unisex salon in the shopping complex. The hostels do have a small canteen outlet. The campus has a full-fledged Bank and two ATMs.

CITY DRIVE – TRANSPORT SERVICE

The University has three buses of 50-seater capacity which shuttles every evening from campus to city centre at designated intervals. The transport fees of the university entitle the students for a ride to shop and meet their food and entertainment needs in the city. The city transport corporation operates buses every 20 mintues which can be taken from front of University Main gate.

The Modern airport of Raipur- Swami Vivekananda airport is 15 mintues drive from the campus and the Raipur railway station is 35 km. from the campus.
