Learning Diary

1st week:

During first session of ICT module, Dr Nazdar who is responsible for pedagogy course, briefly explained the modules that we will have during the course, each month will include 8 sessions twice a week from 9 am to 12 pm, and then, she introduced Dr. Ali to us. Then we started to introduce our selves and our speciality. Later, Doctor Ali talked about ICT, which is a very important topic today. In 1st session Dr Ali had started to induce the course and then ask us to join a padlet in order to know each other and this was a new for me and I liked the idea that let people to be collected in one place. Then he talked about the (Gmail) and how to use the personal email for our purposes and an additional email for our different accounts. He also focused on the activation of two step verification for our emails in order to make it more secure and protected and he asked us to change our passwords to a stronger one.

At the second session, Dr Ali taught us how to join our moodle account and how to use it as a student to get all shared tasks, assignments, files and it is a useful learning management system nowadays. Then He explained different types of Google applications like (Google slides, Google docs, Google sheets, Google drive and Google meet). By my opinion, it was the most useful part of this session as I got many informations about different google applications.

2nd week:

Second week (3rd session) started by Dr Ali which talked about the zoom and how to schedule a zoom meeting by using site or zoom application and how to look good in zoom meeting which was so familiar to me as I used to schedule zoom meeting many times during the pandemic. Then he talked about youtube and opening an account and sharing videos and this was also so familiar to me.

Fourth Session started by explaining how to create a google site step by step how to choose a theme and how to add the pages that will appear on our websites. This session was also one of the most useful one that I learnt a lot followed by creating a padlet account and signing in in to our accounts.

3rd week:

In this week (5th session) we tried kahoot which is a game based learning platform and I really liked the idea especially for making quizes or competition between students. Then Dr Ali talked about how to present effectively and how can you choose effective slides for presentations. Then during (6th session), he taught us how to use google forms and quiz, and to open accounts in google scholar and research gates. Dr Ali and Dr Sarkawt divided us into 6 subgroups in order to present the work shops or presentations for the next week as a task to evaluate us how to apply effective presentation and slides tips during presentation. 

4th week:

7th session started by presenting our tasks according to our subgroups. Dr Ali tried to evaluate us for our posture, gesture, eye contact, voice and the contents of our slides and how much we applied good presentation tips.

8th session was our last class with Dr Ali and we had used moodle as a teacher and he taught us how to add different activities and resources for different classes that you already enrolled to them.
