The classes at HLPAE are free because California, and the U.S. government, want to help adults get an education. This helps people become better citizens and get better jobs. The classes teach you about Civics—the rights and responsibilities of being a citizen—and Economics—how to improve your life with education and a better job.
By helping adults earn a high school diploma or equivalent, HLPAE can help you gain the skills and knowledge needed to get a higher-paying job or continue your education.
Follow-Up Survey After HLPAE Classes
3 to 6 months after leaving HLPAE’s free classes, if you have not given your social security number, you will receive a short survey with 2-4 questions. This survey is sent by the California Department of Education to see if the classes helped you reach your education goals, get a better job, or earn more money.
The questions are:
Are you going to school? If yes, where?
Do you have a job? If yes, how much do you make each month? (This question is optional.)
Your answers help us understand if the classes are making a difference in the community and if they are a good investment.
Please e-mail Lena Delvaux if you have any questions regarding the survey. Here: LDelvaux@hlpusd.org
