Volunteer Service and Report

Arrange early in the semester to volunteer for at least four (4) hours at a community health Clinic, South Central Public Health Department, (Susie Beem at 208-737-5946), or a health care organization of your choice. Keep in mind St. Luke’s does NOT allow you to do hours at their facilities, so you will need to be creative in finding an opportunity that will allow you a good experience. Long-term care facilities are often a very good choice. You must have your organization/agency approved by me for this assignment. See worksheet for signed hours sheet, and instructions to complete the report. This is a two-part assignment.

Health Career Group Presentation

Following the guidelines, teams of 2-3 students will develop presentations to be given in class. Each team must be prepared to answer questions about their chosen profession. Information you will want to include (in addition to other fun facts) is as follows:

1. Occupation name
2. Training and education needed
3. Earnings
4. Expected job outlook
5. What workers do on the job (brief job description)
6. Working conditions
