HindustanTimes, 2019 March: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced the commencement of efforts to rid the Yamuna of wastewater from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The DJB attended a meeting with other government officials to present to them a "concrete plan" to reuse 400 MGD of water, as compared to the current capacity of 90 MGD. STPs(Sewage Treatment Plants). The plan mentioned four types of "intervention" to achieve this goal: the deployment and usage of modern technology to clean 150 MGD of waste water, the redirection of wastewater in multiple drain sizes to STPs, the refinement of STPs and the repurposing of sludge and septage from septic tanks as fuel for biogas which will be used to produce electricity.
Economic Times, 2021: The Government has vowed to deliver clean drinking water to every rural household in India by 2024. Countless Crores have been invested in cleaning efforts, which may be in vain until a scientific approach is adopted to separate solid and liquid waste. It is suggested that local bodies(gram Panchayats and local corporations take initiative and report sources of pollution.
HindustanTimes, 2018 March: MCG Commissioner Yashpal Yadav meets with Ecogreen executives to discuss progress. AS promised, the firm's door-to-door waste collection service had commenced, but little results could be shown. Yadav had directed the firm to extend their service, set deadlines for their tasks and inform customers and citizens in the name of transparency. Mayor Madhu Azad has also informed the congregation that only 26 out of 35 wards were tended to. Several residents of these wards complained of poor quality collection and disposal.
National Herald, 2021 January: Ecogreen yet to commence promised activities, as landfill mass continues to increase. Despite being paid several crores on a monthly basis by the MCG, company has yet to construct the waste-to-energy plant as promised. Due to its blatant inaction, roughly 3,000,000 tonnes of waste have been added to the landfill since 2017.
