Initial ideas are a series of different design ideas that you sketch out. By sketching out and adding annotations to your design it aids communicating this design to others. Often the first design you come up with isn't the best and this helps you to come up with hopefully the best design possible.
Years 7/8/9: Three or four initial ideas.
Years 10/11 (GCSE): Five or six.
Years 12/13 (A level): Ten to twelve.
Further use of freehand, oblique, 1 point perspective, 2 point perspective, isometric, exploded view, sectional view and orthographic drawing techniques to communicate and explain the improvement of your ideas in different ways.
Use one of these brief generators to help you think outside the box.
