Submitting the winning proposal was Pacific Housing Assistance Corporation, a Hawaii non-profit corporation with over 40 years of affordable housing experience.
Regular updates to progress will be communicated at the monthly neighborhood board #35 and Mililani High School SCC meetings.
Public comment will be accepted:
1) over a 30 day period once the Draft Environmental Assessment is published.
2) when the City and County of Honolulu Council takes action on recommendation from Department of Planning and Permitting 201H.38 program.
Following the two community meetings in December of 2024, the design team is reviewing the alternative site "B" adjacent athletic fields. Update information will be conveyed to the public through Neighborhood Board #35 meetings.

Act 172 directs HISFA to build affordable teacher housing as a recruitment and retention strategy to address the teacher shortage. It also gives the HISFA the power to partner with public and private development agencies to develop housing projects on school lands. The legislation identified Mililani High School as a site for the project.
