I am so excited to serve as the 9th grade counselor at Hallsville High School this year! I am entering my 14th year as a school counselor. Although I was born and raised in East Texas, I began my career in education in South Louisiana where I received a Bachelor's degree from OLHCC in New Orleans and taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade. After moving back home to Longview, I earned a Master's degree in School Counseling from SFA then continued on to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.

I have three grown children, Austin, Brant, and Karsyn. My husband, Jason, has a daughter who has given us a sweet granddaughter and 2 more amazing step grand-children. We are blessed that most of our family members live close so we spend a lot of time together.  If I'm not spending time with family, you can find me in the gym or on the golf course.

I'm passionate about helping students make a strong transition into high school, both academically and personally. Freshman year is a time full of new experiences, challenges, and opportunities, and I'm here to support students every step of the way. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where every student feels heard, valued, and empowered to succeed. I work closely with families, teachers, and staff to ensure that each student receives the support they need.

Hello, I am Mrs. Monsivais (Mrs. M.) and I am happy to be your 10th grade counselor. 10th grade is a great year because it means that you have one year of high school under your belt and you now have a better understanding of what is expected. Your 10th grade year also means that it's time for you to really lock in to your program of study.

I have been in education for 15 years, all which have been based in East Texas. Over the years I have obtained an Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's Degree. I began in the Legal field before deciding to pursue Education. I'm still working towards reaching my ever growing goal list as I consider myself a lifelong learner. 

My husband and I have two adult sons that both graduated from Hallsville High School. So, I understand the process not only as a counselor, but as a parent as well.

Hi! My name is Abby Loyd, and I am excited to serve as the Junior Counselor and Dual Credit Coordinator at Hallsville High School.

I began my career in education as a math teacher, spending four years in the classroom before transitioning into school counseling. My educational journey includes a degree from Texas A&M University, where I majored in School Health, and I am currently completing my master’s degree at Lamar University. Before joining Hallsville ISD, I had the opportunity to work with students at Kilgore High School, Waskom High School, and a charter school in Miami, Florida. Each experience has shaped the educator and counselor I am today.

My philosophy is simple: everyone deserves to be loved and heard. I believe students thrive when they know they have someone in their corner who will listen, encourage them, and help them navigate both the challenges and opportunities that come with high school. I am passionate about helping students recognize their strengths, set goals for their future, and feel confident in the path they choose.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to get to know your students, support them through their high school journey, and watch them grow into the young adults they are becoming. Whether they need help with academics, college and career planning, dual credit, or simply need someone to listen, I want my students to know that my door is always open.

When I’m not at school, you can usually find me spending time with my family or cheering on the Aggies! I feel incredibly blessed to be part of the Hallsville High School family and look forward to a wonderful year with our students and families.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington and later completed my Master of Education at Dallas Baptist University. I then returned to Dallas Baptist to pursue advanced licensure in both Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.

My journey in education began in 1999 as a 5th grade ESL teacher in Arlington, Texas. I spent seven years teaching in Arlington and Mansfield before serving as a school counselor in Fort Worth for six years. In 2014, I returned to my hometown of Longview and joined the team at Hallsville High School, where I feel truly blessed to be part of the Bobcat Family.

My husband, Glen, and I are proud parents to three biological daughters—Jordan, Maegan, and Alyssa—all proud Bobcat alumni. We are also deeply grateful for our four adopted children—Felicia, Samuel, Abraham, and David—each of whom is making a meaningful impact in their communities. Our family has always felt a strong calling to help others, especially through foster care. One of our greatest strengths is simply loving people, and we consider it a privilege to support families as they navigate life’s challenges on their path to healing and wholeness.

Hallsville High School truly feels like a second home to me. Each day, I am honored to work alongside dedicated staff and incredible students who continually inspire me. Serving the students, families, and community of Hallsville High School is not just a job—it’s a joy and a calling.
