I am so excited to serve as the 9th grade counselor at Hallsville High School this year! I am entering my 14th year as a school counselor. Although I was born and raised in East Texas, I began my career in education in South Louisiana where I received a Bachelor's degree from OLHCC in New Orleans and taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade. After moving back home to Longview, I earned a Master's degree in School Counseling from SFA then continued on to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I have three grown children, Austin, Brant, and Karsyn. My husband, Jason, has a daughter who has given us a sweet granddaughter and 2 more amazing step grand-children. We are blessed that most of our family members live close so we spend a lot of time together. If I'm not spending time with family, you can find me in the gym or on the golf course.
I'm passionate about helping students make a strong transition into high school, both academically and personally. Freshman year is a time full of new experiences, challenges, and opportunities, and I'm here to support students every step of the way. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where every student feels heard, valued, and empowered to succeed. I work closely with families, teachers, and staff to ensure that each student receives the support they need.
Please don't hesitate to reach out. I look forward to getting to know our amazing 9th grade students and their families!

I hold a Bachelor’s in Communications from Northwestern State University and a Master’s in Counseling & Development from Lamar University. I began my career at Marshall ISD, where I taught and directed Colorguard for many years. My last two years at Marshall I served as a school counselor and guided students through both academic and personal challenges.
Now in my third year as Dual Credit Coordinator and first year as Sophomore Counselor at HHS, I’m dedicated to guiding students through personal, academic, and career planning ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to reach their goals.
Outside of school, I’m a wife, mom of three, and Circuit Administrator for the Four States Performing Arts Association, continuing my passion for student growth through the arts.
I believe in the power of education to unlock each student’s unique strengths, and it’s a privilege to support them every step of the way. Please feel free to reach out with any Sophomore or Dual Credit questions! I am happy to help! Go Bobcats!
I graduated from Hallsville High School in 2002, and I earned my B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies in 2007. I taught 4th grade for 8 years at Hallsville Intermediate School. I earned my M.A. in School Counseling in 2015 and served as Intermediate school counselor for three years before transferring to the high school.
My husband and I have 3 boys that attend HISD. Our family is actively involved in FFA, Tennis, baseball, fishing team, and Scouts. We are busy to say the least, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
I am committed to creating an open and safe environment for all who walk through the doors of Hallsville High School. It is my responsibility to treat all students, colleagues and parents with respect and confidentiality at all times. I will uphold the highest ethical and legal standards, as well as participate in professional development to keep up to date with best practices in school counseling. I am excited about this school year, and I look forward to helping students grow.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington and later completed my Master of Education at Dallas Baptist University. I then returned to Dallas Baptist to pursue advanced licensure in both Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.
My journey in education began in 1999 as a 5th grade ESL teacher in Arlington, Texas. I spent seven years teaching in Arlington and Mansfield before serving as a school counselor in Fort Worth for six years. In 2014, I returned to my hometown of Longview and joined the team at Hallsville High School, where I feel truly blessed to be part of the Bobcat Family.
My husband, Glen, and I are proud parents to three biological daughters—Jordan, Maegan, and Alyssa—all proud Bobcat alumni. We are also deeply grateful for our four adopted children—Felicia, Samuel, Abraham, and David—each of whom is making a meaningful impact in their communities. Our family has always felt a strong calling to help others, especially through foster care. One of our greatest strengths is simply loving people, and we consider it a privilege to support families as they navigate life’s challenges on their path to healing and wholeness.
Hallsville High School truly feels like a second home to me. Each day, I am honored to work alongside dedicated staff and incredible students who continually inspire me. Serving the students, families, and community of Hallsville High School is not just a job—it’s a joy and a calling.
I am truly honored and excited to serve as the secretary to this incredible team of strong, intelligent, and inspiring women.
My career in education began at Alpine Christian Academy, where I spent eight wonderful years teaching young children. It was a joy to be a positive influence in their lives and to share light and encouragement with others each day. I later transitioned to Hallsville High School, where I worked as a classroom assistant in the Structured Learning program. Supporting students with special needs was an incredibly rewarding experience, and I cherished my five years in that role.
I am now proud to serve as the counselor’s secretary at Hallsville ISD. I absolutely love being part of such a dedicated and compassionate team, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the district's mission.
Outside of work, I am a proud mother of two beautiful daughters. It has been a blessing to raise them in Hallsville, where they have thrived in a supportive and enriching community. We are proud to call Hallsville our home and to be part of such a wonderful school district.
