  영어에서‘길(way)’은 ‘방식이나 방향’과 같은 중의적 의미를 갖습니다. 동양 사상에서도 길을 도(道)라고 부르는 것이 신기하지요. 책은 생각의 힘을 키우고 진리의 길을 찾아 나서는 훌륭한 방식입니다. 

우리학교 도서관에는 이 길을 동행해 줄 귀한 친구 ‘코코보코 리딩노트’가 있습니다. 코코보코는 허먼멜빌의 소설 『모비딕』에 나오는 이름으로 지도에 없는 ‘영혼의 장소’라는 뜻을 담고 있지요.

  챗GPT가 글쓰기를 대신해 과속을 달리는 오늘입니다만, “내가 길이요, 진리이니”(요 14:4-6) 우리는 예수님의 방식으로 걸어보려고 합니다 책과 함께 하는 산책길에 진리의 꽃이 가득 피어나길 앙망합니다.

📘서평을 쓰지 않는 독서는 휘발성 독서가 되기 싶지요.
    책을 다 읽고 독서노트를 써 오시면 소장하고 싶은 책을 선물해 드립니다.

Writing a book review or an essay

In English, the word 'way' has an dual meaning that 'method or direction'. It's fascinating to call the road a "do(道); meaning 'a way'" even in Oriental culture. Books are a great way to develop the power of thinking to find the way to truth. 

In our school library, there is our best friend, "Cocoboco Reading Note," which will accompany you on this way to walk. Cocoboco is a name from Herman Melville's novel 『Mobidic』, which means "the place of the soul" that is not on the map.

Chat GPT, recently, is speeding instead of human-writing, but as Jejus says "Am I the way, the truth" (John 14:4-6), we're going to walk in Jesus' way, hoping that the walk with the book will be full of flowers of truth. 

📘Reading without book reviews would be volatile reading.
    After finishing reading a book with its review, you'll get an award of
    a  book you want to keep.

   *  매월 초등 30권 / 중고등 30권 신청 가능

   *  초과 시 다음 달로 이월

   *  신청 가능 도서 : 단행본 (시리즈물 불가)                 

• 학생 : 단행본 1-3권 이내 

• 학부모님: 단행본 1-3권 이내

• 교사 : 수업용 참고 도서 외 3권 신청 가능합니다.

   *  Additional requests will be carried over to the next month.

   *  Separate volumes only (Series not available)                 

• Student : 1-3 titles per individual

• Parents: 1-3 titles per individual

• Teachers : 3 titles in addition to classroom texts

HIS 도서관은 다양한 교육 문화적 배경으로 구성된 교사와 학생들의 연구와 학습을 지원하는 학문의 공간이며, 창의적인 주제 학습이나 토론 활동이 실천되는 공간입니다. 우리 학교만의 교육 방침에 맞추어 전체 장서의 60% 이상 다양하고 높은 수준의 영어 원서와 기독교 관련 장서를 비치하고 있습니다. 한동글로벌가족 누구에게나 밝게 열린 공간으로 소통하고자 합니다.

The HIS Library is an academic space that supports teachers and students of diverse backgrounds in their learning and research, and also provides a place for creative learning activities and discussion. In keeping with our school’s educational philosophy, over 60% of our book collection is in English and includes many Christian resources. The Library is open to all members of the HIS family.

학기 중

월 ~ 금요일: 

• 08:40~17:00 (초.중.고 모두 이용)

• 17:00~18:00 휴게 타임 (저녁 식사)

• 18:30~21:30 (스터디홀)

휴관일: 주말, 공휴일, 개교기념일 등

방학 중 

방학 운영 계획에 따라 변경 가능

도서 대출과 반납

• 도서 대출 및 반납은 컴퓨터와 바코드를 이용한 전산 처리 방식으로 한다.

• 1회 대출 기간은 2주일이며, 도서 대출 권수는 교과서 외 5권을 원칙으로 한다.

• 17:00~18:00 Librarian's Break (Dinner)

• 18:30~21:30 After-school Study Hall

Closed: weekends, national holidays, school anniversary

Borrowing & Returning Books

• Books are marked with an electronic barcode.

• Students may borrow up to 5 books at one time, for a period of 2 weeks.
