Rafał Weron is a Professor of Management Science, Rector's Proxy for the Evaluation of the Quality of Scientific Activity, and Head of the Department of Operations Research and Business Intelligence at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. He is a member of the Academia Europaea - Academy of Europe, the Statistics and Econometrics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences (KSiE PAN) and the International Institute of Forecasters (IIF). He serves on the Editorial Boards of several journals, including the top-tier International Journal of Forecasting. Over the last 20 years, Rafał has built an impressive international reputation in energy forecasting. His other research interests include agent-based modeling and simulation, complex systems, computational economics, computational statistics and machine learning, financial engineering and risk management, stochastic modeling and time series analysis. With 5000+ Scopus-indexed citations (w/o auto-citations) and an H-index of 40+, he ranks high on the list of the Top 2% most widely cited scientists in the world.
Katarzyna Sznajd-Weron is a Professor of Social Simulation and Statistical Physics and mentor of Academia Iuvenum at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. She is the recipient of the Young Scientist Award for Socio- and Econophysics (2007) and the Medal of the Commission of National Education (2011). Over the last 20 years, Katarzyna has built an impressive international reputation. With over 2000 Scopus-indexed citations (w/o auto-citations) and an H-index in excess of 20, she is one of the leading world experts on opinion dynamics. Her other research interests include agent-based modeling and simulation, complex systems, computational economics, phase transitions and social psychology. She is the co-author of the widely acclaimed Sznajd model of opinion formation; the original article (IJMPC, 2000) has been cited over 1000 times (Scopus; w/o auto-citations).
Anna Kowalska-Pyzalska - With an M.Sc. in Management (2001), a Ph.D. in Electrical Power Systems (2006), four years spent in the power industry (2006-2010) and a habilitation in Management Science (2019), she possesses unique expertise on the interface of energy markets, management and economics. Her most recent research interests include the investigation of social acceptance of innovative energy services, such as smart meters or small-scale renewable generation, as well as of alternative fuel vehicles, such as battery electric ones. Apart from empirical studies, she is keen on modeling of adoption rates and diffusion of innovation by means of agent-based simulation.
Yash Chawla is an Assistant Professor of Innovation and Marketing Management and a Member of Academia Iuvenum at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. He also serves as R&D Communication Advisor at DAC.Digital, Poland. Yash has an interdisciplinary background in Engineering, Computer Applications and Business Administration which enables him to work at the intersection of Emerging Technology, Business and Society. He has over a decade of academic and professional consulting experience, working with institutions and businesses in South Asia, Middle-east and Europe. In his relatively young scientific career, Yash has published over a dozen Scopus/WoS-indexed publications and has built a strong global research network. Yash is also an accomplished trainer and public speaker, and has trained over 75,000 students, teachers and professionals till date. His close ties with the industry help in bringing insights to his training, classroom teaching, as well as research. He is determined to produce results that aid in promoting sustainable development.
