Artist Statement

I have long been inspired by the graphic and curvilinear imagery of Pre-Columbian Indian and Neolithic Chinese pottery. The snake form is at once both dangerous and gracious. Representative of wisdom and re-birth, life and death, creativity and fertility, chaos and healing. It is exactly these polar qualities of the serpent that is most compelling about living life and the creative process.
