Beginning Band

• Intended for 5th grade students and older students new to playing a band instrument

• Rehearse Monday/Thursday mornings from 7:45-8:25 am

• Sectional during the week 

Concert Band

• Intended for students in 6th-8th grade with previous experience in band 

• Rehearse Tuesday/Friday mornings from 7:45-8:25 am

• Sectional during the week

• Opportunity to perform at IGSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest (optional)

Lessons

Students will be provided with sectionals once a week during the school day. Mr. Cognetti will pull students out of one class period (with teacher permission) so that they can have a lesson on their instrument along with the other students in their instrument section. 

Students are encouraged, but not required, to take private lessons on their instruments outside of school. Doing so will help them become more successful and more confident on their instruments, along with supporting their in-school music learning goals. Contact Mr. Cognetti for a referral to a lesson teacher.
