A Message from Mrs. Iskenderian
"Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year." Ralph Waldo Emerson
Dear Smith Families,
With 2023 coming to a close, we reflect on the events of the past year and look forward to the new chapter that lies ahead in 2024! I recently read the book, The End Is Just the Beginning, written by Mike Bender to each class from kindergarten to grade four. This picture book served as a springboard for the discussion of the transition in leadership taking place in our school, the end of my career in education, and the beginning of the principalship for Mrs. Higgins. The students understood that the end of one thing is just the beginning of something new and were able to make text-to-self connections. Most importantly, they are excited about the new year (2024) and a new principal.
I am looking forward to a new year and a new career in post-retirement as a "Full-Time Grandmother".
May this new year lead you on a new exciting adventure, complete with life-changing experiences, new hopes and wishes. Have a promising and fulfilling New Year!
Thank you for the great memories over the years. Smith will always hold a special place in my heart!
Love,
Mrs. I.
