During this process of creating our Math Identity Card we were explaining who we are, our hobbies, our learning style and graphs of 3 things we picked out from our team data sheet. The 3 things I picked were sports, my learning style and anxiety levels.
For our story box project we had to interview a partner that got assigned to us, and then after that write about what they told us. After we were finished interviewing our partner, we had to incorporate their story into the box using legos to re-create their story.
For our Hero Story we had to create 2 different kinds of heroes. We had to make our ABC Hero (American Born Chinese) and we made our complex hero, which we had to create ourselves and make an entire story for our hero. We went into Photoshop to create our complex hero's. I created and drew my complex hero because it would be more difficult to create him in Photoshop.
For our graphic novels, our class was split up into two separate groups to create our novels. We created a story, got actors and photo shoppers, took pictures', edited, rasterized and then printed. This was a very long process, that took about a month to complete, but it was all worth it in the end.
Our Camera Obscura project was really fun. What we had to do was bring boxes, cut holes into the boxes to fit our heads, make a second hole in the shape of the square to emit the pictures, put metal tape on the inside of the box and use a thumbtack to make the pin-sized hole, load paper into the box, and then go outside to see the projected pictures.
Our Pinhole Cameras were made a little bit like our Camera Obscura boxes. We brought in boxes (any kind of box). After that we taped the box so that way no light would come out of it. Then we cut a 1cm by 1cm square at the front of the box. We loaded a special type of paper into the box inside of a Dark Room, let it sit outside for about 5 minutes, unloaded it in the same dark room, let it sit overnight and we got our results. It was a very interesting thing to do.
Our Desmos Self Portrait creation was a very long and tedious process. We took pictures of ourselves at Balboa Park in front of a museum, then after that we went into desmos and uploaded the pictures. After that we had to use different types of linear equations, quadratic equations and parabolas. For me, outlining my hair was to most difficult part of this process.
