The Anza Borrego tapestry was the last big project my class did. My tapestry was about the Spanish Settlers and their journey through Anza Borrego. The Spanish Settlers used Anza Borrego as a reliable overland route from New Spain to the California coast. The tapestry process was a little repetitive, but it was still fun. I go more in-depth on the process if you click on the title.
The Weather Forecast was the funniest project we did. I was the weather man in the video. the thing that makes this video the funniest was the editing from our amazing editor Edgar. The video was about the weather in anza borrego we got this information from when we went to our anza borrego trip. We had got temper from 3 points in anza borrego and used that in the video.
To make my epic Journeys film we started off by researching a topic my team's topic was fire. Then we went to Anza Borrego to get A and B roll for our film. A roll is the main footage that we captured which are interviews and pictures of the fire and B roll is the background footage. Then we used canva to put the A and B roll together and added text to explain how to make fire at Anza Borrego
The Epic article was about a thing I did at anza borrego. It was a small video about the moose man, a fictional creature which we made into a little story about how the moose man was a real thing and he would terrorize the campers at anza borrego. I was the main actor in the video along with my classmates as other actors some of them were for lighting and for effects. It was the funniest thing I did at Andrew and I was so happy I was able to be the main star of the video.
The ropes course model is based on when we went to OC Ropes Course each one of my team members would have to go up on the Rope scores and get a picture of them taken on the Rope scores. Then we would take that picture, go into illustrator and trace out our self then we would scale ourselves down to the size of the model which was scaled down 50 times the original size. Then we would laser cut ourselves a base and put in all the little details to make it look like us when we were there. We also had a card at the bottom explaining our experiences of going to the ropes course. Click on the title for more information about the card
For the cardboard boat we started out with little pieces of paper that we had to fold into boats then we would get a piece of cardboard the same size of that paper and make the same boat then we would get a large sheet of cardboard which was 12 times the size of the little piece of cardboard and would use that to make our final boat. My boat was called the Ship of Fools 5-3 but also goes by Titan submissible 3.0 and water coffin. Then we would take these boats out to the Bay and we would try to get them across the bay. My boat was only able to go 5 ft before it sank but my partner got in the boat again for a second try that and the fact that we had three names we were able to get a ribbon which was teacher's choice overall the boat float was fun but it also kind of sucks since my boat didn't float.
The Mission Trail Graph is about when we went to kwaay paay peak in Mission Trails. We hiked up this mountain to measure a type of thing. My measurement was reaction time over time but there was other stuff you could have grafted like heart rate or happiness level. We would take our measurement over 20 minute periods we would also have to take a picture of where we were after the 20 minutes were up. We would use this information to make a graph on desmos graphing calculator. We put the graph the domain and range and the calculations to make the lines we also selected four points we put a picture from that point and at the bottom we had to write an analysis on the four different times during the hike.
The Mission Trails postcard was another assignment we did when we went to kwaay paay peak. With the pictures we took from the hike we had to select one that would be our backdrop for the postcard then we would have to make a message that would go along with the picture then we would have to write a little paragraph on how the journey was at the hike and we would get the address and name of the person we would want to send it to and then they would be sent out.
The math animation was the last project we did in math and was the hardest one. My math animation was about the emperor at SeaWorld. I got this idea from when we went to SeaWorld for a field trip. We started off by making a quick sketch of what we wanted it to look like then we had our first draft of the animation which mine was just the drop and only one type of animation for my second draft I had more color and I had a second type of animation which instead of just having the emperor drop it also had it get bigger as it fell to create a perspective drop. But making that was really hard. Java is really complicated to work with and I thought I would be able to do it just by myself but I was wrong and I had to ask my teacher for help.
