Individuals that present as a danger to themselves (DTS) or others (DTO), or if they are “gravely disabled” (GD), meaning they cannot provide for their own food, clothing, or shelter, may require community-based intensive behavioral health supports, such as intensive outpatient treatment or inpatient behavioral health treatment. Note: An emergency mental health screening completed by a medical and/or clinical professional is required to determine this level of care.
