12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose Summary:
The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros:
Summary:
"The novella The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros features a series of short chapters told from the first-person point of view of Esperanza, a young teenage girl. She moves to the house on Mango Street in Chicago with her family, but she doesn't like it. The house is run-down and small in a poor neighborhood. "
The reason why we read this book was because it had a very strong connection to our project that involved the vignettes of every individual student; it could be used as a reference or inspiration to our work.
My favorite part about the book was how each vignette held a very special meaning and lesson about what on during the writer's life; her ups and downs and how she dealt with them in her own unique way.
Throughout the book, the writing shows how responsibility was incorporated within her everyday life. Whether she were responsible for her sister, her friends, work, etc,.
I would definitely recommend this book. Beforehand, I would also mention that it isn't for the faint of heart. It talks about many everyday issues, whether it be traumatic ones or wholesome memories. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
