Trinidad Motors
Pre-Internship
I will learn life lessons and get job experience to build up my resume and learn how to work on my own car. Some fears I have is that I don't know what to expect and I'm nervous about working with other peoples cars. I want to do this because I've thought about becoming a mechanic but I wasn't sure about it that's why I chose it
Describe the culture at your internship, including how people interact, communicate and work together. Post an image that captures that culture.
The energy in the shop is great, they act more like friends than employees and they seem super close. they play great music too, which is a bonus! There is a lot of history with the shop because it has bee a large part of the Ocean Beach car scene and Sunset Cliffs car show and the owner Angel is on the committee.
What are you most surprised by during your first week of internship and why? Post an image that shows what surprises you.
I am surprised on the amount of cars that I have already worked onand the things that I am doing. I have worked on engines, serviced vehicles, done oil changes, rotated tires, and learned so much already. I didn't know that I would get to be under cars this early, or ever.
How do you see yourself growing or changing over the course of your internship?
I see myself getting a better work ethic after this. I really feel that this has helped me. I enjoy getting up and enjoy going to it every day, even when I am tired. It has motivated me to take some of my outside hobbies more seriously too. I have not been staying up late but instead going to bed earlier and being more responsible.
How do you see your role developing at your internship?
My role is developing every day. Each day I am learning more about each car and realizing there is so much to learn. I am doing oil changes, brakes, fluids, and tire rotations. I like going under the cars too, lately I have been doing differentials which I enjoy.
I have been offered a weekend job after internship so I can continue to learn and assist around the shop. I am excited to continue to learn and work wiht the guys I have met, they are all really cool and it feels like a good environment to progress.
