The tenth grade did an essay researching different people around the world and the problems they have struggled with. We then wrote essays about them and published them to friends and family.
I love reading so much, so when I heard about the book talk i was excited. This was aimed to show the book you have read or been reading for the past 2-4 weeks, then we showed it to the class and give a brief overview and a quote from the story. We also recommended to which audience they believe would like it most!
Actos (plays) were all written by the students and acted out .
We each created inner monologes about the character. We created and told the story as to why they where in the place we are.
My group was Christy, Cj and Zach. We had some bumps in the road, but our play came together quite well after this.
The first assignment we had was to make a biography of myself explaining our personality type, what kind of experience we have have in math, and fun facts about ourselves and aspirations and goals!
In math, we studied breaking down math stereotypes. We watched six vidoes with Jo Boaler from Stanford and learned so much. We learned that your not born a mathematician, you have to put in the effort. We sent a survey to teachers, students, and family then created probabilities from peoples responses. I chose to research how people learn.
In Spanish, we each researched different countries in South America. I chose Argentina and researched three places we would want go, three landmarks and fun facts. We then had to present it all in spanish to the whole class. In general, I enjoyed this project very much.
On canva, I looked at recipe templates and made my own about chilli, because I love chilli. I made my recipe in both English and Spanish.
