Meet your Teachers!

Gina

Trendsetters Humanities teacher. Ms. Gina not only loves to teach, but also loves her Pug dog. Also, last summer Gina started a Run for Breonna movement in San Diego and has raised thousands of dollars to support justice for Breonna Taylor. In addition, she is committed to giving students real world experiences and developing their entrepreneurial skills.

Trendsetters Math/ Science teacher. Dawn is a loving mother of two girls and loves spending time with her family. She is passionate about cultivating a growth mindset in her classroom and empowering all students to be the best possible mathematicians.

Katelyn

Trailblazers Math/ Science teacher. Mother of cat. She enjoys being outside, cooking and baking, and spending time with family. With a growth mindset, everyone can achieve math at the highest levels!

Trailblazers Humanities Teacher. Ms. Bex recently moved to San Diego from Honolulu, HI and is so excited to be here! She loves cooking, hiking, traveling and singing along to the Hamilton Soundtrack. She is committed to helping students feel empowered to make a difference in issues important to them and to the people they care about.

Shane

G7 Makers teacher. Shane was a student at HTHI and has been a finish carpenter and project manager before becoming a teacher. He enjoys tinkering in his garage and connecting with the natural world. He is committed to building fundamental skills with students that focus around creating physical objects.

7th Grade Education Specialist. This will be my 3rd year at HTMMA, and I love to work and support students and families. When not working, I love hanging out with loved ones, being outdoors, and taking care of my plants.

7th Grade Inclusion. Emely is excited for this new year in 7th grade at HTMMA! As an academic coach, she is passionate about providing students with the resources that they need to be successful in and out of the classroom. She enjoys watching scary movies and spending time with her family.

7th Grade Inclusion. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mr. D is one of a kind. He enjoys traveling, eating, dancing and learning new things. Mr. D wants his students to "be their true selves."

Trailblazers Humanities Long Term Substitute. I am excited to be a part of the HTMMA 7th Grade Team. My hope is that every student I encounter will always feel heard, helped, pushed to be their best and loved by me.
