The emergency contact should be informed that their name has been provided on the Registration form and agree to help if necessary.

Section 6: ATTENDANCE/BRIGHTWHEEL

Children in our program are signed in each day to Brightwheel (childcare app) and must be signed out by a parent, guardian, or approved pickup using a four-digit pin number, which is provided by Brightwheel.  The sign in-sign out iPad’s are located in the upper playground and/or in the locations of our groups (homework room, multipurpose room, etc.).  It is essential that each parent signs out their child at the time that they pick them up.

Section 7: SNACK

Every day at 2:15 pm (Kinder Care) and 3:10 pm (Eagle Club), a healthy snack is provided for our Kinder Care and Eagle Club students.  If your child has a food allergy, please provide the director/staff with written information about the specific allergy and please provide a separate snack if necessary.  If your child will be staying in Eagle Club after 5:00pm, please send them with extra snack.

Section 8: HOMEWORK

A supervised time and place is provided for children to do their homework from 3:30-5:00pm.  However, the Eagle Club staff cannot assume responsibility for assignments being completed.  We also ask that you send your child with pencils, pens, and erasers.

Section 9: ACTIVITIES

Monday through Thursday, Kinder Care and Eagle Club consist of outdoor activities, free play, craft projects, free draw, and much more.  We also have Movie Fridays: a family friendly movie is shown to celebrate the end of the week.

Section 10: BEHAVIOR

Kinder Care and Eagle Club students are expected to follow the standards of behavior and discipline as outlined in the High Point Academy Student Handbook.  These are optional programs developed by the school to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for your child.  Children who do not follow the HPA standards of behavior may be asked not to return to the program.

Section 11: CLOTHING AND PERSONAL PROPERTY

Kinder Care and Eagle Club staff are not responsible for clothing and personal property brought from home.  It is considered the responsibility of the students to keep their belongings together.  Parents should label items with their child’s first and last name.  When an item is left behind, they will be taken to the school’s lost and found.

Section 12: ILLNESS

If a child becomes ill at Kinder Care or Eagle Club, the parents will be asked to take their child home.  Please follow High Point’s return school policy if your child is sick.

Section 13: DELAYED PICK-UP TIME

Parents must pick up their children before the 6:00pm closing time.  If the parents (or another approved pickup adult) do not reach the program staff by 6:00pm on the school clock and they have not contacted them by telephone (626-590-3683), the director/staff will contact the parents or emergency contact adults.  If the director/staff is unable to locate anyone to pick up the child, the Altadena Sheriff’s Department will be contacted after a reasonable amount of time has elapsed.

* A late fee of $1 per minute will be enacted after 6:00pm, payable in cash to the director or present supervisor at the time of pickup.  If the late fee is not received at the time of pick up or on the next school day, there will be a $2 per day charge added until the late fee is paid and the student may not return to the program until fees are paid.

Please note that the late fee must be paid in cash and will not be billed to your school account.
