Hello! This is my fourth year at Highland High School and I am beyond excited to be spending it with you! Before teaching at Highland, I received a master's degree in education from John Carroll University and a master's degree in African History from the University of Chicago. I also attended Case Western Reserve University for my undergrad degree in International Studies and French (and I worked as an Admission Counselor there for four years...Go Spartans!).
In addition to a love of history, I read any and all types of books (so please share some of your favorites that I can add to my list!). I also enjoy traveling, exploring interesting places in Northeast Ohio, hiking and camping, knitting, and baking with moderate success (I'm way better at watching shows like The Great British Baking Show). Overall, I think it's important to try new things and get outside of our comfort zones ... in the past year I've gone kayaking and taken pottery classes and loved both!
Hiking in the Yosemite Valley while coping with my extreme fear of heights.
O-H! I-O! Visiting Gettysburg a few years ago during the 150th anniversary of the Civil War battle.
Cat #1: Coco. He likes to help with grading and lesson planning!
Cat #2: Scout. She likes to snuggle and headbutt my book while I'm reading.
