Welcome to our enterprise after school club for when we are having to stay safe at home but Friday afternoons are just not the same without you! If you don't normally come but are here having a look feel free to join in and dance away. This is a group that meets to improve their own health and well being as well as share good ideas with the rest of the school.
We are working with the Junior Rotary Club organisation and have created an enterprise group that is going to tackle a conservation issue: plastic in the waters around us. We chose the subject after a few team discussions and very quickly the ideas started to flow. Rock Challenge stopped which was a big part of our school after school events so we decided to combine the two ideas - enterprise and dance to create a show that has dance as usual but also a song, some videos and an opportunity for people to share their opinions and views on how to tackle the issue of plastic in our local waters and the oceans in the world.
We are delighted to share with you that M.A.D.E. has won the Highland Substance Aware School Award for the second year in a row! This is a fantastic achievement made by a terrific team effort. We won it for our No Smoking Day and pledge to help parents cut down or stop smoking entirely as well as how we managed to get so many people involved in our smoke free policy and practices. With this award comes a shield and also £1000 which will help to pay for substance aware lessons across the school and for a parents' session, too. We aim to get as many classes teaching healthy living next session as possible.
